Trinh Tuan (b. 1961) has mastered figurative lacquer painting. He treats feelings and emotions in an expressive manner, through the use of color and facial expression. Often a single figure is depicted in his paintings that convey feelings of loneliness, sadness, or happiness and love. His figures come alive with human emotion.
