ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tibetan artist Phurbu (b.1974) is a self-taught artist who works with oils. Phurbu borrows from Traditional Thangka which is known for the unique way of drawing lines with rhythm and melody, similar to music. The interactivity between tradition and modernity reveals a new visual possibility, echoing the artist’s personal life experiences.
