ABOUT THE ARTIST
Following on the formalistic elements of Chinese Political Pop and Cynical Realism, artist You Yang (b.1981), portrays the suppressed rage and vitality of his generation through depictions of the tiger - a solitary, inherently arrogant, and constantly insecure beast that isprimitively violent. Being dedicated to the field of urban public art, Yang is familiar with Pop Art and mass culture in China.
