ABOUT THE ARTIST
Juan Elani Tulas (b.1978) is a self-taught artist, who has developed a paint medium using recycled Styrofoam. Influenced by Kandinsky, Van Gogh, Miro, Matisse, and Munch, each recycled styrofoam painting is intricately detailed, intertwined and interwoven to form mosaic like artworks. Tulas’ appreciation for the world around him is reflected in his work, with themes like nature, motion, camouflage, underwater scenes, floral backdrops integrated into his art.
