Yuan Hui-Li’s works are about essence and substance, possibilities, exploration, and revelation. In painting mountains and stones, the artist depicts the remnants of time, as timeless and historical. For the artist, painting stones is not just action but a delivery of a concept. “Discrete Island Series” emphasizes the simplicity of ink traces with dots and lines, “Ambiguous World Series” aims to transform internal emotion into complex doting, wrinkled shapes.
