ABOUT THE ARTIST
Masaya Ike (b. 1983, Fukuoka) creates technically challenging organic sculptures that are the result of extensive research into traditional and innovative bamboo weaving techniques. Combining both old and new methods, the artist uses the traditional surface technique of “Yahazu” along with wide bamboo strips.
