ABOUT THE ARTIST
Invader (b.1969) is the pseudonym of a French urban artist, who defines himself as an UFA, an Unidentified Free Artist. Using the 1978 arcade game Space Invaders as the subject for an ongoing project, his work is composed of square ceramic tiles modelled on 8-bit video games. Using ‘guerrilla’ tactics he calls ‘invasion waves’, Invader installs these ‘Space Invaders’ in public places within targeted cities.
