ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gai Qi’s works are inspired by Qi, Song and Yuan Dynasties landscape paintings- simple, quiet, distant and misty; the old walls and the water stains under the eaves show the beauty of the ruins; the pagodas, ancient trees and distant mountains in the paintings create a kind of interlacing of time and space, a sense of dream, and a kind of inner self relief as well.
