PRESENTING YOUR ART IN SINGAPORE NEXT JANUARY
Singapore Contemporary returns for its 3rd edition on January 18 – 21, 2018, offering leading art galleries and artists from around the world the opportunity to meet with and sell to art buyers and collectors from around Southeast Asia in the heart of Singapore. Held during Singapore Art Week – the largest celebration of the visual arts in Southeast Asia – Singapore Contemporary will be a cornerstone event during this weeklong festival of the arts.
THE ART HUB OF SOUTHEAST ASIA
Singapore has established itself as THE arts hub of Southeast Asia, with a dynamic primary market comprising 140 international and local galleries and an active secondary market specializing in Southeast Asian contemporary works with seasonal auctions including Borobudur, Masterpiece, Larasati Auctioneers and 33 Auction. Its art ecosystem is nurtured by the National Arts Council, Economic Development Board and Singapore Tourism Board as well as enjoying the support of the Art Galleries Association Singapore and many non-profit organizations.
A STANDOUT EVENT
Spread over 6,000+ square meters at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Singapore Contemporary opens on January 18 – 21, and will host more than 100 exhibitors, including artists from a wide range of countries. With the support of a five member Arts Advisory Board providing strategic and practical advice on positioning and integration of the Show and selection of its works, the Show will be structured around four principal sectors: Photo18 Singapore, Latin American Voices, Artist Dialogues, and Gallery Projects. The Show will also offer a range of special features and programs including art tours and talks, and live painting demonstrations. Members of our Collectors Circle and Young Collectors receive special benefits including one-on-one docent-led tours, discussions with specialists on Southeast Asian Art and private tours with the Show Director.
A WORLD-CLASS VENUE
Kicking off the Asian art calendar, the Show will again be curated over 6,000sqm at the conveniently located Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, with walking access from 2 MRT stations, basement parking for 3,300 cars and easy taxi access.

The Show opens with an invitation-only afternoon VIP Private View and evening VIP Vernissage on January 18th and continues with general admission on Friday and the weekend.

All exhibitors at the Show are featured on Asia’s art website, Asia Contemporary Art Buyer (www.asiacontemporaryart.com) as part of their exhibition package. As the one of the most important art websites in Asia featuring more than 14,000 artworks from 1300+ artists, each exhibitor may present up to 50 artworks and participate in weekly Art Alert broadcasts to over 40,000 collectors and art buyers across Asia. This bonus exposure expands the benefits of face-to-face presentations and sales at the Show, to year-round and 24/7 exposure across the region!

Building on the success of the 2nd edition, which drew an audience of over 22,000 active art collectors and enthusiasts the Show, the 3rd edition of Singapore Contemporary returns on January 18 – 21, 2018, bringing a varied and engaging program to a discerning and art-appreciative audience in Singapore. Along with its other principal sectors, Artist Dialogues, and Gallery Projects, the show will present Photo18 Singapore, a curated museum-style photography platform, and Latin American Voices, a series of highly collectable works with distinctive narratives from the Americas.
Photo18 Singapore - Photo18 Singapore follows on the continued growth of photography as a prominent artistic medium and expressive art form. Beyond its popularity, contemporary photography is about sharing a vision and a perception, as well as an understanding of the photography-making process which includes the concept development, the image treatment, and the printing. Each unique work presented at the exhibition will explore and/or challenge the technical, visual and conceptual aspects of photography.
Latin American Voices - returns to Singapore with an expanded exhibition spread across 400 square meters of curated space showcasing more than 30 artists from across Latin America, including Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Cuba and Mexico, among others. On show will be paintings and sculptures by emerging, mid-career and established artists that will offer viewers a glimpse into the unique artistic traditions that colour the narratives of the region with magic, myth and realism. All booths in this sector are 24 - 64 square meters in size.
Artist Dialogues - comprises a curated series of solo artist exhibits by a gallery or artist, created to replicate a visit to an “artist studio” and to initiate a dialogue between budding art collectors and a selection of up-and-coming artists. Collectors and art buyers will meet the artists in person and find out the artist's motivations and inspirations. Applicants can be a gallery or an artist. The exhibited artist must be present at the Show and in the booth during opening hours.
Gallery Projects - Galleries and artist collectives that do not wish to apply for one of the special art projects above are invited to apply for the general gallery sector of the Show. Applicants should be galleries with a minimum three-year track record of operating a gallery or virtual exhibition space, and holding regular exhibits. The exhibit can include works from up to four artists.
