The Asia Contemporary Art Show offers leading art galleries and artists from around the world the opportunity to meet with and sell to art buyers and collectors from across Asia twice a year in Hong Kong – during the two busiest and most important art-buying seasons, in Spring and Fall. In addition to being the cultural centre of the Asian contemporary art scene, Hong Kong is Asia’s most mature primary and secondary art market. Home to world-class art galleries, premier international art fairs and a vibrant arts community, Hong Kong welcomes collectors from around the world who attend the seasonal auctions at internationally renowned auctions houses whose Asian headquarters are located here.


The 11th edition opens September 21 – 24, 2017 and will host more than 80 exhibitors, including new and emerging artists from a wide range of countries. The Fall edition also features “Eye on Korea”, a collection of Korean contemporary art from new and emerging Korean artists, and “Artist Projects”, an entire floor dedicated to solo and joint artist presentations. The aim of both projects is create market accessibility, bringing art and artists together with new and seasoned collectors from across Asia and the world.


Exhibitors to the 9th edition of the show indicated that visitor quality and interest in their works was very high, and they found the show’s atmosphere ideal for visitor engagement. Exhibiting in an intimate and engaging environment resulted in 84% of exhibitors selling works at the show!



Held at the onset of the Fall auction season, the Show will again be held across four floors at the 5-star Conrad Hong Kong atop the upscale and conveniently located Pacific Place at the heart of the city. Part of the Hilton chain, the hotel offers large, luxurious and airy 42-square-meter rooms, that are transformed into more than 80 intimate art living spaces. There is an MTR train station below the hotel; abundant parking; and many dining, shopping and entertainment options in the attached Mall.



The Show opens with an invitation-only VIP Collectors Preview on Thursday evening September 21st and continues for general admission on Friday and over the weekend.



All exhibitors at the Show are featured on Asia’s art website, Asia Contemporary Art Buyer ( as part of the exhibition package. As the leading art website in Asia with more than 10,000 images from 1000+ artists, each exhibitor may feature up to 50 artworks and participate in a weekly Art Alert broadcasts to over 35,000 collectors and art buyers across Asia. The Asia Contemporary Art Show is a popular art fair held twice a year in Hong Kong during the most important times of the year for art sales – the Spring and Fall. As the largest and longest running hotel art fair in Asia, the Show welcomes new and repeat visitors to every edition. Each show continues to build upon the success of previous editions, with the recent 9th edition seeing a 7% increase in visitors and surpassing its previous sales record.  The Show works closely with exhibitors, promoting their artists through extensive PR, marketing promotions and social media outreach.


The exciting 11th edition of the Show will also feature: Eye on Korea and Artist Projects

Eye on Korea presents a series of works by selected galleries, artists and artist collectives that showcase the breadth and diversity of Korean contemporary art. On show will be the works of some of today’s young talented Korean artists who in their arts practice explore a wide range of new materials, binding them together with traditional and innovative techniques to express bold ideas and visions.

Artist Projects dedicates an entire floor to artists exhibiting in a solo or joint presentation. More than 20 art spaces will offer artists an intimate environment to sell their work, as well as articulate their inspirations and artistic practice into a seeing and learning experience. Artists will also have the possibility to secure potential future commissions and special projects, or collaborate with other artists and galleries.


9th Edition Show Visitor Findings:


  • Visitors spent more than 3 hours at the Show and are regular art buyers
  • 2/3 of visitors who bought at the Show acquired works priced at more than HK$55,000
  • 79% of visitors surveyed indicated that art fairs are their primary source of information on art, while 20% of respondents are looking to start their own private art collection
  • 3/4 of visitors would visit the Show again, with most recommending the Show to a friend
